Blog swap recipe: Home made granola

A slightly different format for today's post - I'm featuring a guest recipe by fellow foodie blogger Tamzin from Salad & Sequins - who is obviously a girl after my own heart - sharing her awesome granola recipe. A change from the norm, today you'll find a baked recipe here that's actually good for you! Without further ado, I'll hand you over to Tamzin:

Hello everybody, a big thank you to Emma Jane for giving up her blog to me today. My name is Tamzin and I write the blog Salad and Sequins. My blog is basically an online diary of the goings on in my life, which includes my love of healthy foods and exercise. I am a qualified Personal Trainer so I love to keep fit, I am also a qualified Nutritionist and enjoy making unhealthy foods healthy by changing the ingredients around, plus I have a wheat intolerance which means making my own foods is far safer than relying on pre-made shop bought goods.

I am going to share a very yummy homemade granola recipe with you today. I love this recipe because it's far more healthy than shop bought granola, far cheaper and I think far tastier!


2 cups whole oats

1 cup unsweetened desiccated coconut
1/2 cup flaked almonds
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup chia seeds
4tbs hazelnut oil (or coconut / walnut)
1tbs Truvia baking blend
1/2tsp fine milled sea salt

Granola - in the baking tray
Put all the dry ingredients in a large bowl and combine.

Add oil and honey, mix again.

Put mix in either a non-stick or parchment lined baking tray and bake on a medium heat for 30 minutes

Every 10 minutes take the mix out of the oven and stir.

Once the granola is browned, take out of the oven and cool.

Home made granola
This is delicious on its own or with milk, on top of yoghurt or as a quick fix crumble topping (my favourite!).

As you can see, it's so simple to make - and has loads of healthy ingredients to keep you full and satisfied.
