Super + Super = Pearl and the Beard

Pearl and the Beard at Super + Super
Brighton's most happenin' crafty creative hub, Super + Super is, for many reasons, my favourite after school hang out. The lovely ladies Amy & Claire who run the place really outdid themselves last Saturday when they organised a secret gig and craft evening featuring a captivating performance by Pearl and the Beard.

This wonderfully quirky trio who came all the way over from New York to end up at Super Super describe themselves as "three voices, one cello, one gituar, one glockenspiel, one melodica, several drums, one accordion, ninety-six teeth and one soul". They also knitted themselves a giant stripy three-person jumper to wear on their album cover (and- I'm assuming, just to hang out in)... if this isn't enough to make you want to immediately purchase tickets to their next show, check out their awesome Will Smith medley. Enough said.

After a performance which had passers by literally stop outside to stare in, the band joined the rest of us in drinking copious amounts of Pimms, eating cake and crafting giant dream catchers covered in pom-poms. I'm not sure I can imagine a more perfect evening.

Pearl and the Beard have shows in London this week before going back to the states, if you have the chance you should get tickets, you won't be disappointed.
